Install a composite fence on a low wall

Installing a fence on a low wall requires the use of good tools: the weight and the absence of openwork in most composite wood fences gives them significant wind resistance that only a good fixing such as an insert fixed by sealing chemical can withstand Manual.

Fixing and support, the basis for holding your composite fencing

A quality composite wood being dense, a composite fencing will therefore be relatively heavy, between the weight of the blades and its accessories (posts, rabbets, reinforcement, etc.) in aluminum. Especially since generally made up of blades glued to each other, the fences, not perforated, present a   significant wind resistance during installation.

Thus, a solid and reliable fixing is required, as well as a sufficiently thick and stable low wall.

Faced with these constraints, the steel insert with chemical sealing is a solution combining reliability and simplicity of installation: in galvanized steel, it slips into the post and is sealed into the low wall thanks to its 2 branches.

How to install a composite fencing on a low wall?

To seala 150+150 steel insert with branches, 2 holes with a concrete drill are enough. It’s about:

•             Correctly position the holes (1),

•             To drill (2),

•             To insert the chemical mixture (3) and (4),

•             To slide in the plates (5)

•             And let dry (fast drying time).

•             Then, remove the sealing flanges that protrude (6),

•             slide the post along the insert (7),

•             And bolt the assembly together for optimal support.

•             The posts are ready to receive the slats (8).

Recommendations:

By its  dimensions , its  weight , its  resistance to the wind , the  composite wood fence  is a real  outdoor development . To ensure proper installation, certain recommendations should be followed:

• This installation respects the installation recommendations for fences; first of all, refer to the installation instructions of the manufacturer of your layout: it is their proper application that will allow you to benefit from the guarantee.

• Beyond 1.40 m in height of composite panels, use a largeinsert (type 400+400), which will then require concrete sealing.

• When installing the posts, be sure to add in your measurements, in addition to the length of the slats, the expansioncenters (these centers may vary from one manufacturer to another, as composite wood comes from a different formulation depending on the manufacturer).

• For optimal support, your wall must be solid at the post attachment points. If it is made of cinder block, you can, for example, fill the empty spaces with concrete.

• The low wall must be sufficiently stable, solid and wide (min. 15-20 cm depending on the manufacturer) to support the weight and wind resistance of the fence.

Tips for corner installation:

For the angles, be sure to use a post with variable

Important:Whatever type of product or brand you choose, it is essential to always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations and installation instructions, the only valid document for the application of your guarantee. Make sure beforehand that your support wall meets the prerequisites for installing your fence.
